JOURNEY

In this city unknown  
Fresh out of the cocoon known  
Learning to live for the first time  
High on dreams 
Tasting this sweet freedom  
Wanting to learn  
Wanting to grow 
I stood there 


Step by step exploring this new world 
Made a zillion mistakes along the way 
Paying a heavy price for each one of them all 
Taking off the old mindset of settling in  
Breaking thru this protective shield 
I wanted to stand out  


Nothing comes easy they say  
Engulfed with questions  
This arduous path gave me  
I tried to shut them off 
They never wanted me to win  
Win this ultimate trophy of success 
& They kept pouring in  
Injecting the negativity in me 
Questioning the purpose of it all 
I had to face them once for all 


Denial is not the way to live 
But denial kept me on track for long  
I had to now find the answers  
So resorted to this wise mind of mine  
The creator of these incessant questions  
They say focus on the bright side 
So do we not acknowledge the bad one 
Is life just about highs & successes  
Is life just about reaching a point where 
You can buy that 10 Million Mansion by the sea  
Or is life just about walking by the beach  
Feeling happy content & driven  
I tried to make sense of it all  


Well isn’t life what you make out of it 
You decide your path  
You knit ur dream 
You drive it - slow or fast  
Some things come easy  
Some things bruise you hard  
You pause if you feel the overwhelming pace 
But don’t you give up as yet  
These goals pump up life  
These dreams enrich your soul  
At the end it's all about your journey
